The Quest 1
Quest 1 is 21.5 meters long, 5.4 meters wide and has a draft of 2 meters. The boat offers four comfortable, air-conditioned twin cabins, bunk beds for a total of 8 guests. All cabins include TV and DVD system. There are two fully equipped bathrooms including hot shower.
Quest 1 has one main deck, one under deck with four double cabins and two bathrooms and one top deck with the navigation deck, wheel house and sun deck.
QUEST 1 was hosting the Rip Curl Tip to Tip Mission in 2010. the Rip Curl international Team along with many famous professional surfers like Mick Fanning and Tom Curren where guests on the ultimate surf charter boat fro one complete season, which helped the crew to discover Indonesians best surf breaks. The luxury 14-day / 13-nights surf trips start from Padang – Sumatra. Other locations are possible upon request. Quest 1 takes you to the most perfect and uncrowned waves and the most beautiful places in the Mentawai Islands. The Mentawais offer waves for all surfing levels. Mostly clients are advances surfers who want to score big and heavy waves.
But if you are a group of beginners or not that experienced surfers, no problem!
Experienced captain and crew will bring you to more mellow waves in that area. On additional charges you can even book a professional surf instructor on board and scoring some waves in Indonesia won’t be a problem. If requested we can also arrange a personal surf guide, who guides your group to the best surf spots during the trip and gives you tips about each surfing area.
In the time you are not surfing, try to catch a fish with our on board fishing equipment or go Speer-gun fishing. Use our snorkeling equipment to explore the amazing reefs in the Mentawai Islands. There is also a Jetski and two Stand Up Paddles Boards available on extra charges. Our Speedboat takes you to surf spots or to nearby islands.

On board our crew is taking care of all your needs.
Enjoy the healthy meals with a western influenced Indonesian style menu prepared by our Australian chef. All ingredients are sourced locally with the exception of some essential gourmet imported products. Freshly caught fish will be a major staple during the trip. Also available throughout the day will be various smoothies and fruit juices. Sushi and sashimi will be served whenever tuna or mackerel are caught.
Pre dinner sunset snacks will be served everyday. Such as ceviche, chicken wings, bruschetta, cheeses and dips etc. Cold beverages will always be on hand like Bintang beer, soft drinks and juice boxes. Spirit or Wine selection can be arranged on request to extra charges.
A TRIP ON QUEST 1
We will pick up you up from Padang Airport in Sumatra and take you to the boat. After check in you will enjoy a welcome drink and some snacks on board.
The next two weeks every day the boat crew and the guests will decide to which surf spots they will go to.
There are usually 2-3 surf sessions per day, during downtime use our snorkeling or fishing equipment or rent one of our Stand up Paddleboards.
After an adventurous day in the water and a delicious dinner on board, have a party in the salon or relax while watching a movie in the cabin.

ABOVE PRICES INCLUDE:
Air conditioned accommodation for 8 surfers in 4 twin share cabins. The twin share guest accommodations have 2 share toilet and shower facilities. Each room has its own TV and video. As many boards you are prepared to pay excess baggage for. Equipment for ding repairs. All food (trained chef with no expense spared on food quality). Beers & soft-drinks. Dive bottles and weights available.(need license and assurance, no instructor on board) Fishing gear and spire gun available. Airports transfers in Padang, including porters at airport. Mentawais government tax of US$ 3 per person per day. Complete medical Kit. Full Safety equipment (EPIRB, life rafts etc). CD Player and good stereo with iPod connection. TV, DVD Player Laundry service provided. 220 v 50 - cycle power.
COSTS
The immediate costs of each surf charter trip include the following components: Fuel and lubes, local Capitan, local crew, Western Chef, food and beverage, port clearances, ground transport and porters. Beer and soft drinks are included in the price but not wine or liquor, which if requested, can be provide.
NOT INCLUSIVE: SATELITE PHONE / INTERNET
Please note that satellite telephone is available for all passengers use but cost is not included in overall price. All phone and fax call charges have to be paid in USD cash before the end of your trip.
COMMUNICATIONS
The vessel has AST satellite communications, Byru Satellite phones, and internet connections and guests making use of these for browsing, email, or phone are required to pay for usage.
JETSKI
If a Jet ski is requested, one is provided on the vessel at a cost of USD100 per day.
PADDLE BOARD
We can provide Stand up Paddle Boards for Recreational Paddling or surfing. Please book the usage in advance. Additional costs on request (50 USD per day).
WESTERN SURF GUIDE
Surf guide is not included. The Indonesia law obliges us to act as Indonesian Flag boat with Indonesia Skipper starting from 2011. In case the clients wish to have a Western Skipper or Surf Guide we can organize to bring a western Co-captain and surf adviser. This guide must be registered as Guest and will be charged to the Client at additional costs. On request we can help to organize this western surf consultant. Our Captain knows perfectly all the waves and condition required in these areas.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Quest 1 vessel is drug free. We have already been searched by Indonesian authorities upon the basis of an unfounded allegation. If drugs had been found
in passenger’s cabins or baggage we could have lost the vessel and faced imprisonment, along with the passengers. It’s Just not worth it!!!
OTHER CAPITAL EXPENDITURES
A new 6-burner stove was installed in March 2009. Water maker membranes have been replaced. A new flat screen TV, stereo amplifier, chest freezer and
wheelhouse fridge have been installed (in April 2010).
